An interesting posting about the New iPhone 5 appeared a few hours ago in the Korea IT News section of etnews.com. The reporter Kim In-soon claims to have knowledge of the new materials used by Apple and Samsung for their new Smartphones such as: Liquidmetal and Ceramic. Although the sources are not directly mentioned and cannot be verified, it is an interesting thought.
Kim In-soon wrote in his posting:
According to industry sources, the next flagship phones of the companies are expected to adopt unprecedented materials for their main bodies, that is, ceramic for the Galaxy S3 and liquid metal for the iPhone5, both being thin, light and highly resistant to external impacts. The new phase of the rivalry is because neither one of them can get a decisive edge over the other solely with its OS and AP specifications, features or design.
Galaxy S3 & CeramicSamsung’s Galaxy S3, most likely to be unveiled next month, is already rumored to have a ceramic body. High Tech ceramic is extremely light, comfortable to grip, resistant to shock and could give the Galaxy S3 a unique look.
New iPhone 5 & LiquidmetalFor the new iPhone 5, there are probably three choices: Apple continues with the glass-back, or they will make a uni-body aluminum frame, or they will adopt the idea of liquid metal. Since Apple has an exclusive agreement to use it in electronic devices, the last choice could be a good guess.
