Samsung rolls next Galaxy S teaser, takes dig at Apple

Samsung on Monday started showing a teaser video (embedded below) for its upcoming next-generation Galaxy S. Following a countdown that started Sunday, the clip is short on details but talks about having a galaxy that "fits perfectly into your hand." In a probable dig at Apple, it also claims that the new phone will help avoid users become "sheep," an ironic statement for a company hoping to outsell Apple in smartphones.The video ends in showing the same blue and white droplets from the official invitation for the May 3 event in London. Its repeated references may be a clue to the color scheme, although it would be similar to the very dark blue and white of existing Samsung phones like the Galaxy Note.

Demand has been strong enough that the site has been rendered nearly inoperable by traffic.

Full details aren't expected until May 3 itself, although when any resulting phone ships isn't apparent. The unusually late introduction has been interpreted as a sign that Samsung wants to keep the ship date closer to the introduction.
