Adobe's Creative Cloud has launched according to schedule, bringing cloud-based access to Adobe Creative Suite CS6 to mobile devices, desktops, and notebooks. Adobe is also rolling out Muse 1.0, which allows users to create websites without having to write code, and updating the Adobe Touch Apps for iOS. Creative Cloud is a subscription-based offering that allows users to create, share, and deliver content using the whole of Adobe's Creative Suite tools. Users can store creations in the cloud and work on them from a desktop or tablet later. The new offering also allows for the creation of HTML5 content using Adobe Muse and Adobe Edge preview.
Adobe Muse allows designers unversed in code writing to create web pages. The software integrates HTML5 standards, as well as Adobe Typekit, which gives access to more than 400 web fonts. Users can create, preview, and publish websites from the application, and the software includes a number of site analytics tools.
Creative Cloud is priced at $50 per month, with an educational rate of $30 per month, and Muse is available for $15 per month with an annual subscription or $25 per month on a month-to-month plan.
Adobe also rolled out updates to the Adobe Touch Apps suite, which includes Photoshop Touch and Adobe Ideas. Photoshop Touch allows for quick tablet-based photo editing and image creation, while Adobe Ideas allows for touch-based gesture drawing on tablets. The update for these apps brings greater integration with Creative Cloud. Also added to the Touch App suite were Adobe Proto and Adobe Collage. Proto lets users create interactive wireframes and prototypes of websites and apps on a tablet, while Collage serves as a sort of scrapbook, wherein users can capture and combine images, drawings, text, and files. All of the Adobe Touch Apps are available for $10 each in both the iOS and Android app stores, though currently only the iOS version have received the latest update.
