Apple is reportedly preparing some of its retail staff to work late shifts ahead of the company's Worldwide Developers Conference. Unnamed sources have also told AppleInsider company representatives arrived unannounced at some retail locations, using access codes and keys to gain entry to the local server rooms. The Cupertino staffers allegedly brought a mysterious "black box" and briefly locked themselves in the server rooms without further explanation.Separate sources have reportedly told ifoAppleStore that certain staffers at a Texas Apple Store were asked to work late on June 5. The reasons for extended shifts remain unclear, though the company is not expected to unveil any new products, if any, until the WWDC keynote the following week on June 11. Speculation points to a possible rearrangement of floor items or a signage change.
Apple is rumored to be working on a number of new products, including a significant refresh to the MacBook Pro lineup that will bring retina displays and thinner builds. Other reports point to a new Maps app in iOS 6, photo sharing functionality for iCloud, and a new Apple TV OS.
