Filling a gap in the hands-free market, accessory manufacturer Satechi has begun shipping the BT Media Remote. The remote provides a full complement of media controls, play, pause, next track, volume up, and volume down. The bottom panel of the remote slides down to reveal a numeric keypad to facilitate Bluetooth pairing. A home button will invoke Siri, and holding the volume-up key is a shutter-release button. The local business review service Yelp iOS application (free) has updated to version 5.9.0. The new version allows the user to manage tips, bookmarks, and reviews in the "about me" section of the application. The iPad version will overlay previous venue check-ons on top of a local map of the user's area. Photos have been added to search results in both the iPad and iPhone versions of the application.
Carmageddon Mobile coming to iOS, Android this summer
Stainless games, is converting the original 90s-era computer gaming title Carmageddon to the iOS and some Android-based hardware after meeting a stretch goal of their almost-complete Kickstarter campaign. New features include gestures to repair and recover the player's vehicle, action replays, and Game Center integration. The title will be free for the first 24 hours after release. No firm release date or list of specific compatible Android devices has been announced.
